Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using atlookup (the Service), you ("you," "User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the Terms) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
If you are using atlookup on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. References to "you" then include that organization.
Definitions
For clarity throughout these Terms:
Account & eligibility
To use most features of the Service, you must create an Account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your Account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an Account.
- You must provide accurate registration information — no false names or fake addresses.
- One person or entity per Account, unless you're using the Agency tier with explicit team seats.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access via support.
- We may suspend or terminate Accounts that violate these Terms (see Section 10).
Plans & subscriptions
atlookup offers a Free tier at no cost, and paid tiers (Pro and Agency) billed monthly or annually. Each tier has defined limits on projects, crawl size, scheduled crawls, retention, and feature access. Current limits and pricing are listed on our Pricing page.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual) until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge your payment method for each renewal.
We reserve the right to modify plan features, limits, and pricing at any time. We will provide reasonable notice (at least 30 days) before any price increase takes effect for existing subscribers, and you may cancel before the increase applies.
Billing & no-refund policy
Subscription fees are billed in advance for the upcoming billing period (monthly or annual). Charges are non-prorated — if you upgrade mid-cycle, the new tier's full price applies from the next renewal.
5.2 — Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date. No refund or proration is issued for the unused portion of the current period.
5.3 — Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again over a short retry window. If the payment ultimately fails, your Account will be downgraded to the Free tier and paid features will be disabled. You can restore access by updating your payment method.
5.4 — Chargebacks. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting support will result in immediate Account suspension. We will respond to the chargeback with these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and a record of your Service usage as evidence.
5.5 — Genuine billing errors. If we made a billing mistake (e.g., charged you twice for the same period due to a system error on our end), contact us within 30 days and we will correct it. This is not a refund — it is a correction.
5.6 — Taxes. Prices listed on our Pricing page exclude applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) unless explicitly stated. You are responsible for any taxes imposed by your jurisdiction.
Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Crawl websites you do not own or are not explicitly authorized to crawl. The Service is for auditing your own properties or those of clients who have given you written permission.
- Use the Service to attack, overwhelm, or otherwise harm any third-party server or network.
- Bypass rate limits, plan limits, or quota enforcement (e.g., creating multiple Accounts to circumvent the Free tier).
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Resell or repackage the Service as your own without an authorized Agency-tier reseller arrangement.
- Use the Service to harvest personal data, scrape email addresses, or violate any privacy or anti-spam law.
- Upload, generate, or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful.
- Use automated tools (other than the Service itself) to access the Service or extract data at scale.
Violations may result in immediate Account suspension or termination, with no refund of any prepaid fees.
Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, designs, copy, logos, and the issue catalog, is owned by atlookup and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service per these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or its content without our prior written consent. Reports generated by the Service are yours to use, share, and incorporate into your own work product (including client deliverables).
You may use the atlookup name and logo only for the purpose of identifying us as a service provider in your audit reports or case studies, with attribution. Any other use of our trademarks requires written permission.
Your content & data
You retain full ownership of all Content you submit to the Service — including the URLs you crawl, project names, notes, and the resulting reports. We claim no ownership over your data.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to host, process, and display your Content solely as needed to provide the Service to you. We will not sell your Content, share it with advertisers, or use it to train external machine-learning models.
We may use aggregated, anonymized signals (e.g., "X% of audited sites have a missing meta description") for product improvement and public benchmarks — never traceable to any specific user or domain.
For details on data we collect, how we use it, retention, and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.
Service availability
atlookup is currently in public beta. We do not offer a formal Service Level Agreement (SLA) at this time. We aim for high availability and will publish a status page as we grow, but you accept that:
- The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, or unexpected outages.
- Crawl performance depends on third-party factors (target site responsiveness, network conditions).
- Features may be added, modified, or removed as the product evolves — with reasonable notice for any breaking changes.
- Beta features may have bugs or be removed without notice.
Service interruptions do not entitle you to a refund or credit. See Section 5.
Termination
By you: You may close your Account or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. As stated in Section 5, no refund is issued for the unused portion of a paid period.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your Account immediately, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, including (without limitation) Section 6 (Acceptable Use). In cases of severe violations — abuse, fraud, illegal activity — no refund will be issued.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We will delete or anonymize your data in line with our Privacy Policy's retention rules.
Disclaimers

Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100. This cap applies regardless of the form of action (contract, tort, statute, or otherwise).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold atlookup harmless from any claim, damage, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
- Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.

Governing law & disputes

Before initiating formal legal action, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute in good faith by contacting us at support. We commit to responding to such notices within 14 days.
Changes & contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may cancel your subscription (subject to Section 5).
